If you trade a funded account, there's a good chance you're on a prop firm — and a good chance that firm connects through Rithmic. That's handy, because ATAS speaks Rithmic too. So you can run your order flow tools and your prop firm account in the same platform, and even copy one account's trades across several others at once.
This guide walks through how ATAS fits with prop firms, and how its built-in copy trading works.
(Quick note: this is a how-it-works guide, not financial or trading advice. And copy-trading rules differ by prop firm — always check your own firm's rules first. More on that below.)
ATAS works with prop firms through Rithmic
Most futures prop firms give you a Rithmic connection for live and evaluation accounts. ATAS supports Rithmic, so you connect your prop firm account straight into ATAS and trade it with the full order flow toolkit — footprint, volume profile, POC, delta — right on the same chart. (New to the setup? See How to Set Up ATAS.)
For a lot of traders that's the appeal: you don't give up your order flow view just because you're trading funded. It's all in one place.
Running more than one account
Prop firm traders often juggle several accounts — an evaluation here, a funded one there, maybe a few at once. ATAS lets you connect more than one account and switch between them, so you're not hopping between platforms to manage them.
That's the groundwork for the part that saves the most time: copying.
ATAS's built-in copy trading: the Following Manager
ATAS has copy trading built in — no third-party copier needed. It's called the Following Manager, and the idea is simple: it copies orders or positions from one provider account to one or more follower accounts.
A few things it does:
- One-to-many. Set one account as the provider, then add follower accounts to mirror it.
- Two modes. Positions mode copies only opened positions (followers use market orders). Orders mode copies every order, change, and cancellation as it happens.
- Size ratio. Followers can scale size up or down relative to the provider, so accounts of different sizes stay in proportion.
- Manual control. You start and stop copying whenever you want. There's also an optional confirmation mode that asks you to approve each copied trade before it fires, and a reverse option that flips the direction on a follower if you want the opposite side.
So instead of placing the same trade by hand across five accounts, you trade once on the provider and the rest follow.
The strong point: mirror across accounts — even different firms
Here's where it gets genuinely useful. Because ATAS connects your accounts and copies between them inside the platform, traders use it to mirror one account's trades across several — including accounts held at different prop firms — all from one screen. Trade the provider once, and your other funded and evaluation accounts follow along, no separate copier software in the middle.
For anyone scaling up across multiple funded accounts and different prop firms, that's a real time-saver and a lot fewer moving parts.
Important: check your prop firm's rules first
This is the honest part, and it matters. Copy-trading rules are set by each prop firm, and they vary — and change.
- Copying between accounts you own is commonly allowed at futures firms, but not everywhere — some limit how many accounts you can copy across, and a few don't allow it at all.
- Coordinating identical trades across accounts at different firms can be treated as "group trading" by stricter firms, which can put accounts at risk.
None of that is a knock on the tool — it's just that the tool being capable doesn't mean every firm permits it. Before you set up copying, read your firm's current rules (they update them), and if you're unsure, ask their support in writing. Better to check once than lose a funded account.
What you need
You need ATAS connected to your prop firm's Rithmic account. ATAS supports Rithmic and includes the Following Manager for copy trading built in, and the free trial lets you get familiar with the platform before you wire up live accounts.
The bottom line
ATAS pairs nicely with prop firm trading: it connects through Rithmic, keeps your order flow tools on the same chart as your funded account, and its built-in Following Manager mirrors one account's trades across several others — even across firms — without extra software. Just remember the tool is only half of it: check your prop firm's copy-trading rules before you lean on it, because those are what actually decide what you're allowed to do.
